The Chemung County Democratic Committee seeks to keep Democracy alive and well throughout the county by identifying candidates to run for the County Legislature this Fall. There have been too many years where the voters in the towns of Horseheads, Big Flats, Erin, and Veteran have had no choices on the ballot for county legislator. There has only been one person running, which leaves no choice. Likewise, County wide for several years, there has been no choice for County Executive.

Therefore, the County Committee is seeking hard working, civic minded individuals to run for County Executive and seats on the County Legistlature in the towns of Horseheads, Big Flats, Erin and Veteran.

Please feel free to contact me or any of the other officers listed in the Committee section to learn more about becoming a candidate or committee member. Government needs independent voices to achieve balanced views and progressive approaches to public representation. Consider becoming a candidate for public office and let me know by May 31st.
